Great site, helped with my final prep.
I just passed TCP/IP for NT4 this morning with a mark of 913(coool!!!), Thanks to Brain dumps, New Riders and Trancender exams.
The test is not as hard as you would expect. Pass mark is 750.
My advise is know concepts behind subneting,super neting,DNS WINS and Name resolution.
Rember this is a Microsoft exam so WINS Rules.
I memorised the number of subnets and masks and used the formula 2^z-2 where z is the number of zero s in the mask. For number of hosts easier than remembering the tables.
Below is what I memorised and then wrote out befor starting the exam.
Subnetting
Class C Subnetting
Subnets hosts mask Node types 1= b 2 = p 3 = m 4 = h
2 62 192
6 30 224
14 14 240
30 6 248
62 2 252
Remaining classes
Subnets Mask
2 192
6 224
14 240
30 248
62 252
126 254
254 255
Used formula 2^z-2 for hosts, as there are very few class a,b subnetting questions and i found the formula easier than memorising the tables.
ie mask 240 with class b subnet in Bin = 11111111.11111111 11110000 00000000
So number of 0 = 12
Number of host 2^12-2 = 4094
Know NetBT name resolution order.

Know IP Resolution

Know your utilities Netstat,Arp, Nbtstat etc I had no switches questions. ie NBTSTAT -R
I also had all Multi choice questions.
Be aware that the last seven questions take alot of reading so perhaps mark all preseeding questions and go back to them. I didn t but found a brain foggy by this stage.
