Microsoft 的Windows 2000的考试提高了认证的标准。它适用于中到大型组织中的IT技术人员,具有建立复杂 网络 环境的能力。建议有一年的工作经验再参加Windows 2000的考试。

70-215: Installing, Configuring and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
70-216: Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure
70-217: Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services

70-240可以替代4门必考的Windows 2000核心考试（70-210，70-215，70-216，70-217）
必须首先通过了3门Windows NT 4.0的考试（70-73，70-67，70-68），70-240才能有效
70-240的考试有效期为2001年12月31日Windows NT 4.0升级
Windows NT 4.0的3门考试70-73，70-67和70-68将在2000年12月31日退休，1年后，即2001年12月31日，NT 4.0的MCSE将过期
Windows NT 4.0的MCSE必须在2001年12月31日前，完成Windows 2000的考试
对于已经通过了3门NT 4.0考试的MCSE，升级可以考70-240一门，加上从3门Windows 2000可选考试中选一门，一共2门考试
其他
网络 知识是Windows 2000的基本要求，所以70-58 Networking Essentials也在2000年12月31日退休。相关的知识将包含在

注意：
70-240必须首先通过了3门Windows NT 4.0的考试（70-73，70-67，70-68），70-240才能有效
70-240同时可以作为MCDBA的必考和可选考试，也就是说如果选择了考70-240，那么MCDBA只需要考3门：70-240，70-28和70-29
